We were invited to @porscheclubmotorsport press day ahead of Rindt's first season in the Porsche Club Motorsport Championship at Donnington Park Race Circuit.
It was inspiring to meet the team of talented drivers with a varied mix of experience, we saw first hand the dedication, skill and hard work from the team race mechanics, keeping the car running in peak condition… We always knew Rindt built stunning cars, which we have pined over on Instagram for quite sometime, but we saw that the attention to detail they ordinarily put into each of their unique and special builds has also gone into each and everyone of their teams race cars… that's quite a racy mix.
We left the testing day with a lot of respect for all of the team, and pining for a Gen1 race prepared Cayman, running with a set of stunning fuchs replicas from Group4Wheels. Watch all highlights for the whole season on their YouTube channel. We wish them well for the season.
MEET THE TEAM
THE BEAR - Brian Richardson
Brian is an ex-touring golf professional and his word is now “trying to drive a car in circles fast”. Having participated in a few race series last year, Brian thinks the Porsche Club Championship is hands down the best, so Rindt Racing is now running four cars this season.
TAZ - Harry Rice
After Karting Harry raced in the Junior Saloon car Championship. He was a scholar in 2019, and in 2020 he came P6 in the championship. In 2022 he competed in Britcar, unfortunately, the car terminally broke after a couple of rounds, he then competed in a hired car which saw him gain two class podiums, and despite missing many races achieved P3 in class for the year. This year Harry will compete in Class two of the Porsche Club Championship and we are delighted to have him with us!
THE SLAYER Warren McKinlay
This year Warren joins the Rindt team as our new head of motorsport. His race history has seen him compete in multiple seasons of the Fun Cup Championship, along with 3 seasons in the Britcar Championship. In Britcar he raced an Aston Martin GT4 Vantage for two seasons, and one season racing a Praga R1. His favourite race so far was competing in the Aston Martin festival race at Le Mans in 2018, 2hrs before the main race started, what a great experience.
ANDY TOONIGAN Andy Toon
Andy is a veteran in the Porsche Club Championship, he took a break during Covid and beyond due to work and family commitments. He is very excited to return to the series this year and see so many old and new faces on the grid. Andy acknowledges the series has grown substantially over the last few years and that this will bring new challenges as he gets himself back up to speed. He is looking forward to having fun with old and new friends and getting stuck in!
